Is this the right course for you?

This course teaches you to write texts for the B1–C1 certificate exam. If you are just starting Polish or struggle with cases, the “Polish for foreigners” course (A1–B1) is a better fit.

How will the course help you prepare for the exam?

In the course you will:

  • learn vocabulary related to common exam topics;
  • learn to use adjectives in natural sentences and longer texts;
  • learn the structure of different written forms;
  • find out how to begin, develop and end a text;
  • analyse sample texts;
  • learn to justify your opinions and develop each point of the task;
  • learn useful expressions matched to levels B1, B2 and C1;
  • complete exam tasks at three levels;
  • practise vocabulary and useful structures in interactive exercises.

You also work with authentic tasks from the Polish state certificate exams that appeared in previous exam sessions. This way you get to know the real instructions, their requirements and how to cover each point.

You practise new words straight away: you check how to use them when writing your own text.

What is in each section?

  1. 1. People (Człowiek)

    In this section you will learn to describe a person's appearance, character and behaviour, and to use the adjectives you have learned in different written forms.

    The materials include:

    • a description of a person and an analysis of a sample text;
    • a forum post and an analysis of a sample answer;
    • B1 exam task: describing a person;
    • B2 exam task: describing a person;
    • C1 exam task: describing a social group;
    • useful expressions matched to levels B1–C1;
    • exercises that build vocabulary and writing skills.
  2. 2. Film

    In this section you will learn the vocabulary you need to describe and review a film or a series. You will learn to write about the plot, the acting, the music, the visual side and your impressions.

    The materials include:

    • a description of a film or series and an analysis of a sample answer;
    • a private message recommending a film or series and an analysis of a sample text;
    • B1 exam task: an opinion about a film;
    • B2 exam task: a review of a film or series posted on a website;
    • C1 exam task: the biography of a person whose story could become a film script;
    • useful expressions for presenting a plot, expressing and justifying opinions, describing impressions and making recommendations;
    • interactive exercises that reinforce vocabulary and structures useful in writing.
  3. 3. Travel (Podróż)

    In this section you will learn to describe a trip, a place you stayed in, accommodation, attractions and travel conditions. You will also learn the vocabulary for assessing positive and negative experiences.

    The materials include:

    • a description of a trip and an analysis of a sample answer;
    • a review of accommodation and an analysis of a sample answer;
    • B1 exam task: an account of a trip;
    • B2 exam task: a description of a Polish town;
    • C1 exam task: a complaint about a place of stay;
    • useful expressions matched to levels B1–C1;
    • interactive exercises that reinforce vocabulary and expressions used in written texts.

You learn vocabulary and use it straight away

Each section combines vocabulary with writing practice. First you learn the adjectives and expressions you need, then you practise them in exercises, analyse sample texts and finally write your own.

For each written form you get:

  • an explanation of how the text is built;
  • specific guiding questions;
  • useful expressions matched to the level;
  • tips on how to complete the task;
  • a plan for your text;
  • a checklist to review your text on your own.

This way you prepare not only for specific topics, but also build the skills you need in the whole written part of the exam: planning a text, keeping the right form, developing ideas logically, justifying opinions and choosing vocabulary for level B1, B2 or C1.

Who is this course for?

  • You are taking the Polish state certificate exam at level B1, B2 or C1.
  • You want to write with richer language and structure longer texts better.
  • You already know basic grammar. If you are just starting or struggle with cases, choose the “Polish for foreigners” course (A1–B1).

Hi, I'm Sylwia

Sylwia – author of the Polish for foreigners course

I’ve been helping foreigners find their way in Poland for years. As an active examiner, I know what real communication requires – both on the exam and in everyday life and work.

I know Polish seems hard, but I’ll prove to you that it’s a logical system. I’ll show you concrete rules and patterns so you stop guessing endings and start building correct sentences.

My goal is your full linguistic independence. I’ll help you overcome the fear of speaking so that in any situation you feel confident and safe.
